Do you want to find out your ph and acid levels in your swimming pool? Well, it is easier than you might think! All you need is a swimming pool and a swimming pool testing kit!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Aqua Chem Swimming Pool Testing Kit
  • A pool with water in it
  1. Step 1

First open your kit and take out the plastic tester. It should have two "vials" and scales on it. You should also have two dropper containers, one with yellow liquid and one with red liquid.

  2. Step 2

Look at the tester kit. There should be a yellow side and a red side. Take the tops off of both sides, but remember where each top went.

  3. Step 3

Cover the tops of both vials with your finger and stick the tester into the pool without letting water get in. When your arm is approximately 18 inches under water, lift your finger off of the vials and let them fill with water.

  4. Step 4

Place your fingers back over the vials and take the tester out of the water. If the vials are full to the top pour a little water out.

  5. Step 5

Now we add the drops! Three drops of the yellow liquid go in the side with the yellow topper. Three drops of red liquid go in the side with the red topper. Place the toppers on the vials and shake gently until the liquid has dissolved into the water.

  6. Step 6

Now, next to the vial on the tester is a scale for each vial. Look at the color of water in the vial and then try to match that color to the colors on the tester. If the color is not in the section marked normal, it is either too high or too low and will need to be corrected by adding or reducing chemicals in the pool. Do this for both the yellow vial and the red vial. You are done!
