In this instance any old subject just won't do simply because it is of interest to you. Now you must evaluate your list of potential topics for profit potential. Both of these steps will help you to evaluate possible earnings potential.

Now you should investigate the competition. Your odds of attracting an audience will be significantly better if their aren't a million other podcasts already covering your chosen topic. Podcasting is a relatively new technology, so finding a subject that somebody hasn't already covered shouldn't be too difficult.

When selecting a topic, think small. Zero-in on a topic that you enjoy talking about or that you feel will prove to be profitable and then set about to conquer that niche and become an expert in the field.
