Step 4
Traveling with Pets is possible, but check the rules. St. Kitts is quite a pet-friendly island. As such, they put in place a set of protocols to facilitate those who would like to travel with their pets, specifically cats and dogs. These regulations serve to protect the interests of you, the pet's owner, the destination and, indeed, the pets themselves.
-
Step 5
many sites to seeTraveling around St Kitts can be done by renting a car or hiring a driver. Whether you want to see the fortress remains, turtle beach with its view of Nevis across the straight, or just drive to the many interesting plantation homes, sugar plantations or lava formations it is easiest to hire a driver.

Step 6
If you are in need of a car, Mr Levine (pronounced Le-Vine) and his family are an absolute joy to deal with. He is highly recommended by locals and he definitely has a wealth of knowledge having spent his entire life on the island. Once your arrive call him for initial transportation and then keep his card, call him whenever you need to go farther than your legs can take you. Don't miss a tour of the island with a local taxi driver, visit Bassettiere once, but spend your time just roaming. You'll absolutely love this hidden gem of an island.
-
Step 7
Whatever you do you must visit Mr X's Shiggity Shack on the Carribean Beach Side of Frigate Bay. As it sounds, this shack (and it is a shack) sits right on the beach. Tables consist of old industrial "spools", high wood bar tables and wood seating all sitting in the sand directly on the beach. These guys serve up the absolute best caribbean lobster. Its caught fresh that day, sliced in half and grilled right there on the beach. An entire meal of lobster and beer for two will set you back a whopping $35. Time it right and you can watch the sunset as well.
