Things You'll Need:
- Fresh Portabella Mushrooms (whole lg caps)
- stick of butter
- worcestershire sauce
- sweet red wine
- yellow onion
- sauce pan
- skillet
- flame
-
Step 1
Sweet Red WineCut the onion in thumb size pieces or slices. In a sauce pan add a stick of butter, 3 table spoons of Worcestershire sauce, 2 shots of sweet red wine. If you prefer white wine, white Zinfandel works well with this recipe.
-
Step 2
Heat the mixture to a boil until it thickens stirring occasionally. This might take about 20 minutes or more. Add the onion after 10 minutes. Careful not to burn this.
-
Step 3
Wipe the fresh (whole large cap) Portabellas down with a damp paper towel. Slice them 1/4 to 1/2 inch slices.
-
Step 4
Pour the sauce into the skillet and add the Portabellas. Cook about 5 minutes on each side or until they brown.
-
Step 5
Bella BurgerThese are an excellent appetizer with steak or on a sandwich/burger.
