Portabella Mushrooms
Portabella Mushrooms

Mushrooms are a great side kick with a lot of dishes, I love them with steak. You can even cook these on the George Foreman grill.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fresh Portabella Mushrooms (whole lg caps)
  • stick of butter
  • worcestershire sauce
  • sweet red wine
  • yellow onion
  • sauce pan
  • skillet
  • flame
  1. Step 1
    Sweet Red Wine
    Sweet Red Wine

Cut the onion in thumb size pieces or slices. In a sauce pan add a stick of butter, 3 table spoons of Worcestershire sauce, 2 shots of sweet red wine. If you prefer white wine, white Zinfandel works well with this recipe.

  2. Step 2

Heat the mixture to a boil until it thickens stirring occasionally. This might take about 20 minutes or more. Add the onion after 10 minutes. Careful not to burn this.

  3. Step 3

Wipe the fresh (whole large cap) Portabellas down with a damp paper towel. Slice them 1/4 to 1/2 inch slices.

  4. Step 4

Pour the sauce into the skillet and add the Portabellas. Cook about 5 minutes on each side or until they brown.

  5. Step 5

These are an excellent appetizer with steak or on a sandwich/burger.
