Things You'll Need:
- A note book
- A positive attitude.
-
Step 1
Pick a date to start losing weight. We are not going to call this a diet. This is a little different than a conventional diet. On the first day get a note book and write down everything you eat and drink and the times you eat and drink. For the entire first week be meticulous with this. Don't lie or omit things. That won't help.
-
Step 2
In the second week, look at your note book. Take not of your eating habits and patterns. What are your bad eating habits? Do you eat at night? Snack constantly through out the day? Eat foods that are very high in fat every day? Look for your worst habit and try to cut back on it. You don't have to give it up completely but at least cut back. After doing this for a few days look for your second worse habit and repeat. Keep doing this over the next month and see how your results are.
-
Step 3
After you have cut back on or(in many cases I think you will find) eliminated, start replacing those old bad habits with new good habits. For instance, start out slowly and take a ten minute walk every evening or every afternoon on your lunch break. If you drink a little water but not your full 8 8oz cups a day - add another full cup per day. If you don't drink water at all - start. Make 1 glass a day a part of your routine. You could practice yoga for 10 minutes, ride a stationary bike, do crunches or squats. You know some healthy habits you could add to your daily routine. Make a point to add at least 1 per day. As you get used to it, consider doing this for a little longer each day. Try to find other healthy habits and incorporate those into your schedule. Start slowly and build up over time.

on 6/1/2009 I really liked your article. I love that it helps people to see that losing weight is about making life changing choices, not following fads, and not only that, but shows them that making those life changing choices can be easier if done slowly over time. Thanks!
