Waxing and waxing for that extra shine can backfire after time.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scrub brush
  • A large plastic bucket
  • 1 gallon white vinegar
  • 1 cup cream of tartar
  • Old clean and dry bath towels or cleaning rags
  1. Step 1

Get bucket and add warm water, the cream of tarter and the vinegar and mix gently until the concoction is completely dissolved.

  2. Step 2

Dip the scrub brush into the solution and apply to the area that has the unwanted build up of wax. Apply with a gentle rotating motion. Continue until the entire desired area is covered with solution.

  3. Step 3

Follow yourself with cleaning towels and wipe areas that are scrubbed. These towels are to be dipped in warm water and wrung out to have the least amt of water possible.

  4. Step 4

This process may need to be repeated over and over again in stubborn areas until old wax is removed. If the new wax is continued to be applied over the old wax it may result in a yellowish type look that is definitely aesthetically displeasing.

  5. Step 5

Rinse thoroughly with clean water and then dry floor.
