Find a Cushy Government Job

Do you know someone with that great government job? You know that type. Great retirement, great vacation, and even great pay? Have you ever wondered how people find and apply for jobs like that? Well wonder no more! I am going to show you the quick and easy way to find and land that cushy government job!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The first place to start is to hop on the internet and go to http://www.usajobs.opm.gov/ This site is the "be all end all" of government job sites. Here you will find available jobs working for the FBI, CIA, TSA and many more. You can view all of the open jobs available in the world (yes world!) or narrow them down to jobs in your area code, or just available jobs in government agencies you would like to work for.

  2. Step 2

The second option for you should be to check out sites like Careerbuilder.com or Monster.com. Sites like this will have a slightly smaller collection of government jobs, and many are not as recent as the link on step 1. But this can be a good place to look none the less.

  3. Step 3

Another great option is to simply call the phone number of the agency you would like to work for, and inquire about available jobs. All of the different government sectors have these job hot lines, and you can find them on their websites.

  4. Step 4

Maybe you aren't interested in working for an agency like the FBI or CIA. Maybe you are more interested in local government positions. What you want to do in this situation is go to Google or Yahoo and search "State Jobs" and include which state you are looking in. An example site of this would be California's http://www.spb.ca.gov/index.htm?e=1.

  5. Step 5

    Good luck!!!
