You may have seen the booklets that are made for people born a specific year. They have highlights of the year in them, and people who were born that year. They also have prices of what things cost back then, such as houses, cars, a loaf of bread, etc. If you have a little computer skill, you can make your own booklet and even include people with the same birthday as the person you are making it for. Using whatever program you like to use, you can make your item into a card, newsletter type format, or booklet. You might even just want to fix it up as an email. I am going to tell you how to get the information you will need to go in it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • printer
  1. Step 1

Go to the Brainy History website. I will include a link in the resource section.

  2. Step 2

Click on the "Birthdays" link to go to a specific day and month (Their birthday). This will give you a long list of people with that birthday. For instance, mine is December 5th. I found out that I share a birthday with Walt Disney and Little Richard.

  3. Step 3

At the top of that page, you can also check on Events in History, and Deaths for that day.

  4. Step 4

Back on the homepage, check out the year they were born and include some highlights of the year for them.

  5. Step 5

To add some other information, such as food prices, I have found another site that is useful. I will include a link in resources for it as well. It is called thepeoplehistory.com

on 2/22/2009 Those birthday booklets are so cute, but the ones in the store are really overpriced. Thanks for the info on making our own.
