Valentine's Day is one of the best times of year to shower someone you love with a spa gift. But Valentine's Day gift certificates on their own are uninspiring and impersonal. Putting together a Valentine's Day spa gift basket, however, adds a creative touch to show how much you care.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Valentine's Day Spa Gift
  • Box or basket to hold the gift
  • Gift Certificate to a favorite spa

Determine what type of Valentine's Day spa gift is appropriate for your relationship with the recipient. For instance, a Valentine's Day gift for mom should be more pampering and appreciative, while a Valentine's gift for a wife should be more romantic.

  2. Step 2

Find a spa-themed gift that both suits the recipient, and coincides with the services given in the spa gift certificate for Valentine's Day. If the gift certificate is for a manicure and pedicure, including a Valentine's Day spa gift that allows the recipient to maintain the manicure and pedicure at home works well. Similarly, if a massage is included in the gift, essential oils, body lotions, or body oils all make excellent spa-themed Valentine's Day gifts.

  3. Step 3

Once the main spa gift has been chosen, and the spa gift certificate for Valentine's Day has been purchased, assemble the Valentine's Day gift in a small basket or box. First, line the basket or box with tissue paper, preferably in a Valentine's Day color, like red or pink. Then, add the spa-themed gift and the gift certificate.

If there is more room, add spa-themed accessories, such as a scented candle, or a CD of Valentine's Day or love-themed music. To truly pamper a loved one, consider adding a plush spa bathrobe or warm, fuzzy slippers.

Tips & Warnings
  • Look in the bedroom or the bathroom of the person receiving the Valentine's Day gift to figure out what kind of scents are most interesting to them.
  • If a Valentine's Day spa gift certificate isn't available where you live, consider making a homemade gift certificate and using the spa products to provide the pampering yourself.
  • Provide an all-around escape by booking a hotel room for the evening. Most places have specials, and getting away from the noise of the kids or the same old bedroom can be nearly as relaxing as the spa itself.

on 3/24/2009 What is the best place to go for a mail order gift basket? One site that I stumbled across that impressed me very much was http://www.basketsbeautifulgifts.com. Is there anyone that has any experience with them, and if so, what products did you get from them? I see that they have different spa baskets and meat baskets and others. They seem to be reputable enough. I was just wondering how flexible it would be to get a custom gift basket. If anyone has any experience working with them, please let me know.
