Breakfast gift baskets for Valentine

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 10-12 inch tray or shallow basket, plastic or glass goblets
  • Bottle of apple cider or grape juice
  • 2 Chocolate or favorite muffins
  • Nice card with apporiate note for occasion
  • 1 orange,or other fruit, cut in half
  • Carnation or favorite flower, napkins small candy pieces
  • Stretchy Saran wrap that clings well
  1. Step 1

Place some red shredded tissue or tissue paper in the bottom of the basket to raise up the bottom and make a bed for the ingredients.
Place the bottle of sparkling cider into the center of the basket laying with the top of the bottle centered at top of basket. Place the 2 muffins, or bagels,(I leave wrap on them) on each side of the bottle just below the shoulder of the bottle. Next cut the orange or other fruit in half and wrap each half with saran wrap. Place these below the muffins. Lay plastic goblets or real glass if you prefer beside the bottle sides.

  2. Step 2

Sign and write note on the card. Place the card to the left side of the bottle neck. On the opposite side of the bottle place the carnation or flower of choice. A folded napkin for each person placed below the bottle bottom. Add any additonal items where they will fit and look nice. Like some Hershey Kisses etc.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the entire basket in clear stretchy Saran wrap or equivalant wrap. Shrink wrap will work, but is more expensive. Place the basket on the side table by the bed if for a surprise. Make and wrap a few hours prior to serving.

Tips & Warnings
  • Some candies, specific to holiday if using for a holiday breakfast can be sprinkled or placed in the basket around the edges where free space is showing. The fruit can be anything you desire, just place it in so it looks pleasant. A kiwi is pretty too.
  • Keep refrigerated if you cut the fruit to far ahead of serving, and be sure to chill the drink.
  • The fruit will be messy so provide extra napkins, and a baggie for peels etc.
