Things You'll Need:

  • A web site
  1. Step 1

Ask your web developer! Chances are that the contractor who designed your web site would be more than willing to offer your web site maintenance and updates on a monthly basis for a fee. This way, you can focus on what is ultimately the most important -- the content.

  2. Step 2

Update the web site with a CMS (content management system). Some of the more popular content management systems include Joomla and Mambo, and they offer any user the ability to change any section of the web site in an easy-to-use interface. This is a cheap and effective way for a business to continue making updates without needing to know the web language that goes on behind the scenes of it all.

  3. Step 3

Ask your developer how to make simple updates in the important sections. This way you can learn a little bit about HTML and the code of your online presence too! This is probably the best option for those looking to save money, but have time to spare. For those without any time to learn a little bit of HTML and how to update and upload files to their server, check out the steps above.
