Step 1
What can you spend? One of the first things you should do is decide on your valentine chocolate budget. Seriously! You can pick up chocolates in any local store for a couple of bucks; you can also spend literally hundreds of dollars on chocolate. It all depends on what you have to spend and how much your sweetheart likes chocolate.
-
Step 2
Chocolate Roses are Great to Use with other GiftsNext, it's wise to decide if the chocolate is going to be the focal point of your gift, or if it's simply a small part of a larger gift that you'll be giving. If your valentines chocolates are THE gift, then you'll want to make sure that the packaging and the chocolates are perfect...if it's only one part of a larger gift then you may want to choose some nice chocolate roses that can be given to your sweetheart in the morning with breakfast or used as part of the wrapping on the larger gift.
-
Step 3
What kind of Chocolate does she like? It's now time to decide on the kind of valentine chocolate to buy. There are literally thousands of choices here but your budget will help guide you on the path to the perfect chocolate. Do you know what type of chocolate your valentine likes? When he/she buys a candy bar, what does she get? If she eats plain Hershey's bars, then chances are that she won't like chocolate filled with other items, if she eats Snickers maybe she would! Does she like milk chocolate or dark chocolate? What about white chocolate? You may have to do some investigating to figure this out!
-
Step 4
Presentation is KingBefore you buy, think about presentation. Guys, you may think it's silly but women LOVE presentation. If your valentine is sleek and sophisticated, purchase chocolate that is packaged that way. If your sweetie is fun & flirty, maybe a candy bouquet made with chocolates is the right choice.
-
Step 5
Fondue - Romantic & Fun!Consider doing something a little different than a traditional box of chocolates. Instead, buy a small fondue pot and some really nice chocolate. You can get really romantic as you dip strawberries and other fruits and treats in your chocolate fondue.
-
Step 6
Don't be limited by the choices available in your local grocery store. Many cities have candy shoppes and even shops dedicated solely to chocolates. You can also get some wonderful imported chocolates online!
