Things You'll Need:
- $25 or less
- Internet
- Special Dog Lover
-
Step 1
Give the gift of reading! Suggested titles include: The Story of Edgar Sawtelle; Marley & Me; the original Lassie Come Home; 101 Dog Tricks: Step by Step Activities to Engage, Challenge, and Bond with Your Dog.
Consider also healthy recipe books for dog bones & treats -- many of them come with great illustrations, easy instructions and a bone shaped cookie cutter.
All of these are available online, or can be found at stores including Barnes & Noble or Borders for under $25. -
Step 2
DVDs are another great option. Suggested titles: The Dog Whisperer - Beginning & Intermediate Training; Nature - Dogs that Changed The World; Shaggy Dog; Lady & The Tramp
-
Step 3
Create a "Doggie Bag" addressed to both your Dog Lover and their Dog.
Ideas of Items to include: Healthy Treats for Dogs-make sure the product is made in the USA and relatively "filler free"; a paw print frame; tennis balls or other dog friendly toys; disposable "doggie doo" bags; calendars, magnets, keychains of the dog's breed. -
Step 4
Give the Gift of Life.
Make a donation to a charity in the name of your dog lover and their dog. There are many deserving charities that need the help in this strained economy: The Humane Society, Paws of Life, local rescue organizations, or any no-kill shelter.
