Moving a heavy pool table can be a challenge.

While having a pool table can offer hours of recreation, moving a pool table requires some planning and lots of help.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A minimum of 4 people
  • A pick up or trailer

How to Move a Heavy Pool Table

  1. Step 1

Plan ahead because pool tables are very heavy. If you are moving a pool table from one location to another you need to have at least four people on hand to help lift and carry it. You also need to have a pick up or trailer on hand to haul it.

  2. Step 2

Lift each corner of the pool table at the same time to move it rather than sliding it. This helps prevent damage to the the legs and feet. Move the pool table to the nearest door.

  3. Step 3

Lift, turn and set the heavy pool table on it's side.

  4. Step 4

Angle the pool table so that one end will move through the door then re-angle it as it moves to work the other end through the door. This can be tricky so make sure you clear everything out of the way.

  5. Step 5

Load the pool table onto the pick up or trailer and secure it with straps to keep it from moving around. This helps prevents scratches and chips.

  6. Step 6

Follow the same steps to move the pool table into your home.

  7. Step 7

Set the pool table back on it's legs once you have it where it will be set up. Level it after it is in it's spot.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wrap the pool table with something like a blanket to protect the edges from being scratched.
