There is nothing more frustrating than trying to shoot a game of pool on an unlevel pool table. If you are having a problem with the balls rolling to one side or corner then it is time for you to level your pool table.

How To Level A Pool Table

  1. Step 1

Roll a pool ball slowly across the surface of the pool table from each end. The direction the ball rolls indicates which side of the table and which corner needs to be adjusted.

  2. Step 2
Place the level on the long side of the pool table.
Place the level on the long side of the pool table.

Place your level on the long side of table that the ball rolls towards. Check to see where the bubble is on the level. Note which end is off the center and move to the next step.

  3. Step 3
Next, place the level on the short end of the pool table.
Next, place the level on the short end of the pool table.

Place your level on the short end of the pool table that the ball rolls towards. Again, check to see where the bubble is on the level and note which corner is off the center.

  4. Step 4
Turn the foot of the pool table to the left or right.
Turn the foot of the pool table to the left or right.

Raise the low corner of the pool table by turning the foot left or right. Make the adjustments a little at a time, checking the level after each adjustment. This is where you need a second person to lift the corner of the table while you make the adjustments.

Tips & Warnings
  • A 4 ft. carpenter's level makes the task of leveling a pool table much easier.
  • Be careful not to twist the foot completely out.
  • If your foot seems to be extended up far as it can go then it is necessary to leave it as it is and lower the other three feet of the table.
