How to Do An Easy Vintage Look With Makeup

Want a cute vintage look that's easy and doesn't take much time to do? Here's how to achieve the look in only a few minutes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Apply layer of liquid mascara to top lid only, from end to end, with the line getting thicker toward the outer end. A thicker layer gives the illusion of long, thick eye lashes, whereas a thin layer gives a more casual look (something you could wear to work, school, etc).

  2. Step 2

Create a curl at the end of your eye by drawing a short line from between your upper and lower lids, angling it upwards/curling the line, and connecting the line on your upper lid to the curl. This may take some practice to perfect it and keep symmetrical with the other eye.

  3. Step 3

Apply a small amount of under-eye concealer to your lower lid (and just below it). Apply black mascara to the upper eye lashes, then curl lashes and let dry.

  4. Step 4

Apply red lipstick of any brand. Emphasize lips by coating a thicker layer toward the outer lip.

Tips & Warnings
  • This look can be achieved using any brand of makeup, as long as the liquid eyeliner and mascara are black (or very dark) and the lipstick is red.
  • Take some time to perfect the eyeliner curl first if you want to shorten the time it takes to apply it.
  • Use a damp q-tip to remove liquid mascara if you mess up.
  • To enhance the look, try applying white eyeshadow all over the top lid, then dark brown eyeshadow just above the crease.
