Pregnancy Announcements have been around since the beginning of mankind. So of course those precious heralds have been made on every continent, in every language; almost every hour on the hour since the birth of the very first
baby! The method of announcing the eminent birth of a precious child can
be as individually varied as the personal tastes of the expectant parents. But
here are a few ideas:

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Follow your heart!
  1. Step 1

Send a hand-made card with baby pictures of the expectant parents on the front of the card or choose a store bought card. Record the news of the pregnancy onto a greeting card which allows customers to record a message and mail it. Include baby cooing or crying sounds, lullaby songs, etc. Also write your special message on the card.

  2. Step 2

    Email the fantastic news!

  3. Step 3

Create a pregnancy/new baby announcement website. Email the website address to friends and family. Update it regularly throughout the pregnancy. Continue the website after the birth of the baby with pictures and all news, etc. Make your site password protected to protect your privacy. Explain the privacy feature to family and friends so they do not feel free to share the info with others, etc.

  4. Step 4

Send a telegram to surprise the expectant father with the baby news! Follow with a special “memory making” event for the both of you. Plant a tree together! Plan a weekend get-a-way together or a special dinner of both your favorite foods. Do something that will make the best memory for you both as expectant parents.

  5. Step 5

Consider having professional announcements created. Take all of your creative ideas to the professionals or just leave it up to the experts. Discuss with them your paper selections, ink selections, and any extra additions that you would like added to the announcement. The price range is from moderate to expensive depending on your selections. Have fun!

  6. Step 6

Write the announcement on pink or blue trimmed baby bibs. Use puff paints and/or glitter paints. Allow a couple of days for them to dry before mailing them in envelopes.

Note: Substitute new cloth diapers for the baby bibs. You can also baby onesies or infant t-shirts instead of baby bibs. You can even use disposable diapers but they may not work well with puff paints. You may have to use colorful markers or something that adheres well to the surface of the disposable diaper.

  7. Step 7

You can come up with additional ideas. Just think of a fun way to say there is a "little one" on the way! Set aside some time and …… dream!

Tips & Warnings
  • Follow your dreams and have fun! Each set of expectant parents have their own individual ideas.
  • Start praying for your baby as soon as you find out that you are expecting. There are life challenges facing all of us; too many to mention. And you already know some of the methods that are used in everyday life to help children sidestep and/or overcome some of those issues as they grow into (hopefully) mature adults. And we also know pretty much what works and what does not! But if you have never tried praying; what do you have to lose? With a sincere and humble heart, just tell God how you feel about your pregnancy and of course your love for your little one although he/she is not even born yet. Then just ask him to show you how to pray the types of prayers for your child that will help him/her to have the best life possible; even through adulthood. For sure, they will need lots of prayer throughout their lives!

on 1/15/2009 I agree with you on the praying for your baby. You can also pray for yourself in the hopes of good health while you are carrying the little one.
