How to Successfully Apply Lipstick

Don't send the wrong messages by having your lipstick smeared all over your face, apply lipstick the right way by following these steps...

Things You'll Need:

• Lipstick
• Patience

1. 
   pick the right color..

   First you must decide what type of lipstick you're going to use. Some of the options may be glossy, sheer, no smear etc..

2. 
   grab a compact mirror

   Once you've established the kind of lipstick you're going to use, look in a mirror, either bathroom or compact and start toward the top of your lip before moving outward.

3. 
   start at the top

   Do this all the way down to the corner of your lips and then restart at the top and continue down to the other corner of your top lip. Remember not to press to hard when applying the lipstick if you don't wish for the color to be "deep". If you're looking for a lighter look, press lightly.

4. 
   Get the effect you want..

   When lining the bottom line, do a smooth swipe from one corner of your lips to the other. Layer this 2 or 3 times for more effect.

Tips & Warnings

• To make the lipstick really stand out, add a lip balm base before applying the lipstick.
