Step 1
Go to www.openoffice.org and download OpenOffice. Its free and is going to make the rest of this a breeze. Open Office will be the word to pdf coversion tool.

Once installed, Open the program OpenOffice Writer. This is OpenOffice's free program that attempts to perform similar functionality to Microsoft's Word Prgram.

Once the program is open, Click on the file menu in the top left, click on open and locate your word (doc) file.

Once your document is opened, reread it for errors. Sometimes errors WILL happen, so please check.

Now, click on the file menu again. This time, select 'Export as PDF'. A new window will open, if you wish to export the entire document just click Export.

A File window will now open where you can decide the name of the new pdf file and decide the location to save it too. When you have decided the name and destination click 'save'.

Step 7
You're done! Now go open your New pdf file and verify its validity. Remember Open Office when converting other Microsoft file types to pdf.
