Eating out need not break the bank. There are some tips that you can follow that will stretch value of the money you spend at a restaurant.

Things You'll Need:

  • Coupons when you can find them.
  1. Step 1

Value menus are just that... a value.

You can have a very cost efficient meal by shopping the value menus at local restaurants. If you don't mind smaller, a sandwich, drink and fries can avg. a little over 3 dollars. Compared to 4 or 5 dollars for the larger meals, you can save quite a bit of change each week.

  2. Step 2

    Skip the soft drink.

I used to work in fast food, and soft drinks are automatically taxed. Go for water. The restaurants typically won't charge you- though some may charge you for the cup.

This only works if you go for the water available at the soft drink machine... not for bottled water.

  3. Step 3

Get a large sub, and you also have dinner...

I do this all the time. I will go on and spend the money on the large sub, but I will have the other half for my dinner. Saves on cooking and spreads out the value of the money you spent.

  4. Step 4

    COUPONS, COUPONS, COUPONS!!!

I am always on the look out for coupons. Restaurants will sometimes put our a "buy one, get one" coupon or survey phone numbers that can be turned into coupons once you complete the survey. Use them whenever you can... the savings will add up.
