How to Draw a Panda Bear

Drawing is a way to release pent up emotions and calm the minds of many. Art has been around for millennia, starting with cave drawings. However, not all of us can be a modern day Michelangelo. We may not be able to make masterpieces, but can content ourselves doodling cartoons of people, plants and animals--including this panda bear.

Instructions

1. 

   Sketch a medium circle, like the one pictured, somewhere near the upper middle or top of your page, depending on how big you want your panda to be. This will be the head.

2. 

   Outline a large oval underneath the circle. This will be the body, so make sure the top of the oval touches the bottom of the circle.

3. 

   Add two little circles on the sides of the original circle. These are ears, so don't make them at the very top or the very sides, try to keep them somewhere between the two extremes.

4. 

   Draw two medium elongated ovals at the top of the large oval, and the bottom of the large oval. These are the arms and legs. Add claws if you like.

5. 

   Smooth out the limbs by making a smooth line from the arm or leg to the main body, so that they look less like bubbles and more like limbs, as in the picture.

6. 

   Insert a small circle in the original circle.

7. 

   Draw two loops off the small circle and put two dots inside of them, for the eyes, and a small triangle with two hooks coming out of it inside of the smaller circle, as pictured, for the nose and mouth.

8. 

   Do the shading. The ears, circles around the eyes, upper body, and legs of the panda are usually black, the unmentioned parts remaining white, but you can do whatever you want, as it's your drawing. Go crazy, make a purple spotted panda. The choice is yours.
