Things You'll Need:
- A desire to donate
- A drop off location
- A deadline
- A budget
-
Step 1
Set a budget. If you decide you want to spend $50 on toys for "Toys for Tots" then stick to it.
-
Step 2
Pick toys for both boys and girls. You can select two toys and buy duplicates. The toys are going to many different kids. If you buy 10 toys for $10 each, you only spend $100 and 10 kids get toys this year that might not otherwise.
-
Step 3
Check out the "Toys for Tots" guidelines for donations. Certain toys, such as military and police cars, used toys, toys with candy and guns are not accepted. Check out the links below for more information.
-
Step 4
Find your drop off location. Go to the website and click on "Toy Drop-Offs." Select your state and city or county. Call the listed phone number to find out more.
-
Step 5
Major toy stores accept donations as well. Contact your local stores to find out if they are accepting donations.
-
Step 6
Donate online. Click on the "Donate Online" and give money to the Toys for Tots Foundation. You can also donate in honor of someone or as a memorial gift.
-
Step 7
If you and your family are in need, you can also request a donation online.

on 1/22/2009 Thank you for this information on Toys for Tots. My office collected for them this past Christmas and they are a top notch organization.
