Shovel Snow Off Your Driveway
Shovel Snow Off Your Driveway

Shovel snow using helpful technique by first making a middle line for easy foot work and shoveling.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Strong Back
  • Shovel
  • Plenty of Snow
  1. Step 1

Start at the beginning of the driveway and remove any pieces of ice or snow that was left by the snow truck. Use a shovel with a wide blade.

  2. Step 2

With shovel, make a middle line in your driveway about 10 feet.
Make this 10 foot middle line as many times as needed as you proceed.
This gives you room to move around and it gives you a constant starting point for your shovel.

  3. Step 3

Now you are standing on that small 10ft long strip that you just cleared. Now just shovel the snow away from the center towards the sides. You will go back and forth shoveling towards one side, then turning around and shoveling towards the other.

  4. Step 4

Move your vehicle after the driveway is cleared. Remove any snow that was around your vehicle.

  5. Step 5

Throw down some salt or Calcium Chloride to melt any ice build up.

Tips & Warnings
  • Recruit help if needed.
  • If using salts on your driveway, be careful not to shovel the snow on your lawn. Salt is not good for grass
  • If shoveling at night, use some lighting and always let someone know you are outside in the event you fall and injure yourself
