Things You'll Need:
- Bottle of bleach
- Tire gauge or any key
-
Step 1
Take a sponge and sop it in bleach. Be careful not to get too much on your bare skin.
-
Step 2
Wipe or dribble the bleach all over the treads of your tires.
This will soften the rubber, making the rubber grip the ice better. -
Step 3
Take a key or tire gauge and release the air pressure in your tire. It usually only takes about 10 to 15 pounds of pressure to roll down the road. Let the air out until the walls of the tires are almost touching the ground.
This will give you better traction on ice and snow. -
Step 4
Parking on top of kitty litter is a great way to keep your tires from freezing to the ground.
-
Step 5
Carry a few flares in your car to heat up ice around your tires.
Lighter fluid is also a great item to have with you, as you can spray a little of it on the road in front of your tires and melt the ice.
Salt, Salt, Salt. Always a great iteam in the trunk.
