Step 1
Ask the bridal shop if they have a fall & winter line. Even if you are getting married in the spring or summer these dresses will still fit the bill. You can have a full length sleeve shortened to a 3/4 sleeve.
-
Step 2
Tell the dress shop attendant your dilemma. They may offer to take a sleeve off of another dress so you get a custom made gown that fits your modesty requirements.
-
Step 3
Switch departments. You can find inexpensive white dresses in the prom section of the store. These have a wider variety of modest necklines. You may even find a slinky lace dress in the mother of the bride section.
-
Step 4
Find a dress that has a matching shawl or wrap. Even if you don't want to wear it on your big day you may have enough material to take to a dress maker to see if they can fashion sleeves.
-
Step 5
Shop vintage. Check thrift stores or ebay to find vintage wedding gowns. These dresses often had sleeves & impeccable beading & lace. You may find exactly what you want for half the price.
