Step 1
Chain in multiples of four to desired length, plus chain one. Insert hook into back loop of next chain space, yarn over, pull through. * Keeping all loops on hook, insert hook into back loop of next chain space, yarn over, pull through. Repeat from * to end. [only back loops are used to create a firm edge]
-
Step 2
Working backwards [without turning] Yarn over and pull through two loops on hook. * Chain three, yarn over and pull through five loops on hook. Repeat from * to last four stitches. Chain three, yarn over, and pull through last four loops on hook.
-
Step 3
Skip first cluster stitch. * Pull up a loop from each chain of next chain three space and from thread which closed cluster of previous row [again, keeping all loops on hook]. Repeat from * to end.
-
Step 4
Working backwards [without turning] Yarn over and pull through two loops on hook. * Chain three, yarn over and pull through five loops on hook. Repeat from * to last four stitches. Chain three, yarn over, and pull through last four loops on hook.

Step 5
Repeat from Step Three for pattern...
