This is extremely easy and quick also. I decorated aprons to add to my food gifts this year. Here is how I did it...

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pre-made apron from a craft or hobby store.
  • puffy paint
  • a favorite holiday saying-I picked 'Let it snow' and 'Eat, Drink and Be Merry'
  • Time for them to dry
  1. Step 1
    premade apron in black

Go to the hobby store and purchase premade aprons. In my store they are located next to the t-shirts and tote bags you can decorate. I always print out a coupon from the Hobby Lobby website for extra cash off of regular prices.

  2. Step 2
    puffy paint

Find a saying that aids itself to baking, cooking or the theme of your gift. I chose a royal blue apron with white and baby blue puffy paints and a red apron with black, green and more white puffy paints.

  3. Step 3
    saying

    saying

I laid out the aprons. Decoratively wrote my sayings and drew pictures that went with the cooking or drinking themes of my gifts. The blue apron had a baby blue cupcake with white flakes of powder sugar getting sprinkled on with the saying 'Let it snow' and the red apron had the saying 'Eat, Drink and Be Merry' had a martini glass with an olive.

  4. Step 4
    gift set

To make them a complete gift set I will put mini silicone baking pans with the blue apron. The red apron set is going to have a martini set or a cheese platter, I haven't decided yet.

Tips & Warnings
  • Get creative this season.
  • Use food websites to find new food gift ideas.
  • Find your own favorite saying using Google.com or Yahoo.com and create a theme.
  • Pay attention to washing instructions and include some for your friend.

on 12/30/2008 I really like this gift idea, and will want to do this either next year for Christmas gifts, or I might try a summer barbecue apron. Thanks for the good article and nice photos.
