How to Set Windows Vista Time Limit Controls for Children

Windows Vista has an amazing new feature that will control the time limits your children will be able to use the computer with internet access. Here's how to set them up.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    First you need to password protect your Administrator account by going to Start -> Control Panel -> Users -> and select Accounts and Family. Select the option to change your password.

  2. Step 2

    Okay let's go back to Start -> Control Panel -> Users and Family. This time you should look at the Parental Control title and see an option to "Set up PC for any User." Go ahead and just press OK when the popup comes up.

  3. Step 3

    Now you should see the option to turn the parental control On or Off. Select 'On'.

  4. Step 4

    Scroll down to the Time Limits list you should see a table for the days of the week with hours, it's very simple to use. Blue means that it is restricted, and white means that it's allowed. Just use your mouse to drag and click the days and hours that you would like to restrict your child from using the computer.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to write your password down for any administration account you may choose.
