The radio is full of chatter. You hear warnings about enemy submarine contacts, enemy planes advancing towards your ship and as you look through your binoculars, you see a mighty battleship ahead. What do you do? How do you win? This article will provide some basic hints for you to lead your fleet to victory.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Battlestations: Midway (PC or Xbox 360 version)
  • A gaming system that can run your Battlestations: Midway
  • Attitude
  • The proper gaming accessories to play the game (varies)
  1. Step 1

When squads of enemy bombers and torpedo planes attack your fleet, make sure you spread your ships out a little. Therefore, it will be harder for enemy bombs to hit you. However, don't move them to far because if they are together, they can concentrate their anti air. If you have any aircraft, deploy them to attack the enemy but make sure they each have different targets.

  2. Step 2

If an enemy submarine is approaching your position to attack, you need to flee as fast as you can. If you have no PT boats, Destroyers or planes armed with depth charges, then your fleet is likely to be destroyed (unless the sub surfaces and you neutralize it). Depth charges are the only weapons that can damage subs underneath the water. If you do have PT boats or destroyers, manually attack the sub (these ships will sink after one or two torpedo hits). If you have planes, get a sonar attack and depth charge the sub.

  3. Step 3
    Keep your ships moving!!!
    Keep your ships moving!!!

If an enemy fleet is approaching your fleet, there are several things you can do. First, make sure your emergency repairs are all set to water. Second, have your larger ships slowly creep in and then turn so their sides face the enemy. Thirdly, if you have any smaller ships, try sneaking them around in the middle of battle to launch a torpedo attack.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use the artillery on your own. When the AI fires the guns, they are less accurate.
  • Always keep your ship a moving target.
  • Try to keep a balance fleet close by (keep destroyers by battleships to counter subs and aircraft).
  • Use the command map to command AI units.
  • Don't waste torpedoes. They are limited and take a while to reload.
  • Don't keep your ships to close.
  • Avoid sending ships off alone or without air cover.
