How to Rebuild a Pocket Bike Carburetor
Did you bike stop running? Not been started in years? Been through a lot of dusty rides? You may want to clean out your carburetor to get it running again.
Things You'll Need

- Phillips screwdriver
- Carb cleaner

1
Turn off fuel petcock valve at gas tank. If your bike has been sitting for more than 6-8 months I'd recommend draining all the old fuel. "Do not throw it out as you could still use it to clean paint brushes or your air filter".

2
Remove the air filter/ air box. (I needed to unbolt the rear shock to get to mine).

With the bowl off, remove the main jet. (Copper thing in the middle with a slot across it). Spray carb cleaner through the jet and the needle slide ( where you just removed the jet from). Spray carb cleaner on the entire insides of the carb including the throttle body (where the air and fuel finally meet). Make sure there is NO dirt, dust, grit, lint from your rags, or in my case dog hair.

Check the float for smooth operation by hooking up the fuel line and running some gas through it. When down fuel should flow. With gas flowing push up on the float arm, gas should stop coming through. If that is working properly inspect the float for anything that could interfere with it's proper working abilities.

Carefully install the carburetor starting with the throttle slide. Make sure to line up the slots on the slide with the jets in the carb, do not force this to go, if lined up properly it will slide in smooth.

Then carefully bolt the carb in place making sure the gasket is in place. With both sides snug tighten these bolts with a little bit of force, not too much but more than the screws from the bowl. Install the fuel line and turn on the gas. With the choke fully on try starting it. If nothing make sure fuel is getting in the carb. It will not run with the choke off as too much air will be getting in.

With it starting you can now install the air filter. Tighten everything down and start it up. Let it warm up and then ride on.

Tips & Warnings
To get it started you may need to use some sort of starting fluid. I used wd-40.
Stay away from open flames as you are working with fuel. No smoking, it's bad for you anyway :)
