Things You'll Need:
- Milk - OR -
- Bread - OR -
- Gum - OR -
- Mint candy

Step 1
Drink a glass of milk. The milk will neutralize the acid and help reduce your heartburn quickly. It does not matter if it's whole milk or skim milk - any milk will do. I've found this to be the most effective heartburn remedy other than antacids and it works the quickest too!

Step 2
Eat a piece of plain bread. Eating bread will absorb any acid in your stomach and help to lessen your discomfort.

Step 3
Chew gum - minty flavored gum works best. Or eat a spearmint or peppermint candy like a life saver, or hard candy.

Step 4
Have someone rub or pat your back. It will help break up the indigestion and give you comfort within minutes. (Works for babies!)
