Things You'll Need:
- Disney Theme Park Ticket
- Fastpass
-
Step 1
Visit Disney during the “off season”. The first two weeks of December or the week after Labor Day is the best time to visit Disney as far as crowds go. The worst times to visit are July and August and the week after Christmas. Also, try to go when school is in session.
-
Step 2
Plan your days. The theme parks can be overwhelming if you go without a plan. Decide which rides are priority, where you want to eat, and which areas of the park you’ll visit at what time of day.
-
Step 3
Arrive at the parks 30 minutes prior to opening to get through security. Once the park opens, you can visit attractions before the masses arrive an hour or two after opening.
-
Step 4
When visiting Disney parks, go to the attractions in the back of each park first before this area fills up.
-
Step 5
Use single rider lines. Disney cast members fill empty seats by drawing from this line, normally cutting your wait time by quite a bit.
-
Step 6
Use Fastpasses for popular attractions. See my ehow article "How to Use the Walt Disney World Fastpass Service".
-
Step 7
For parents: All park rides have babyswap. One parent takes a child on a ride while the other parent waits with the baby. The first parent comes out and waits with the baby while the second parent rides without waiting in line.
-
Step 8
If you stay for the fireworks shows, find a great view close to an exit when possible. At the Magic Kingdom, stand in front of the Emporium. At Epcot, sit at the World Showcase Plaza.
-
Step 9
If you stay off-site, drive to the Magic Kingdom and stay for the fireworks show, take the monorail to the resorts upon departure. The second stop is the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). Most people do not realize this and wait for the monorail that goes directly to the TTC. You will be in your car and leaving before the masses even make it on the TTC monorail.
