How to Look Good in Photos

Save

It’s easy to look good in photos if you follow a few tried and true posture tricks and smile-enhancing tips. If you want to look taller, thinner or just generally more fabulous in photos, you’ll need to practice how you stand and how you pose. If you work on it enough, it will become second nature to you to position yourself to take a good photo, even during candid moments.

  • Create a radiant smile by simply closing your eyes first. While the photographer counts to three, close your eyes and breathe in. Just before the photographer counts to three, breathe out, open your eyes and smile. This technique will help relax your facial muscles, making your smile look radiant and authentic.

  • To look slimmer in photos, point your feet at a 45-degree angle away from the camera. Twist your waist so your midsection faces the camera. This pose makes your waist appear smaller and makes you look good in photos.

  • Angle your face to avoid a double-chin in photos. Turn your head about 45 degrees away from the camera, stretch your neck and tilt your head down a little. Don’t tilt your head up.

  • Add to your height by placing one foot behind the other. Pull your shoulders back. This position will give you an instant lift.

Tips & Warnings

  • Bright diffused lighting is better than high noon light.
  • Girls, make sure your make-up is not splotchy.
