How to Make Money as a Scrapbooker

Scrapbooking is a fun hobby. It takes a lot of time and effort to create quality scrapbooks. Some people do not have enough time or the right skills to make the scrapbooks that they want. For those who enjoy and excel at this creative task, they have the opportunity to make a hobby into a career.

Instructions

    • 1

Create samples. These samples should show the magnitude of your skills. Because this is a creative business, the samples that you provide should be a wide variety of occasions, events and themes. You can use your own scrapbooks as examples or create an example book out of your extra pictures.

    • 2

Figure out the details. How much will you be paid and at what intervals? What are you responsible for? How will the small things like material costs, journaling and photo manipulation be handled? Have a variety of options available, as each client will want different things from you.

    • 3

Create an agreement. This is a contract that you and the customer will go over. Include the details that you decided upon.

    • 4

Advertise your services. Go online and put ads on Craigslist and other sites. Include some of the details that you believe the potential customers should know, such as your rates and examples of your work.

    • 5

Create an online platform. You can set up your own blog and update it regularly. Social networking websites like Facebook and MySpace are useful for businesses as well.

    • 6

Set up meetings. When you meet with a customer, this is when you will show them the details of your work. Bring along your sample album, a copy of the agreement and any other information that the customer might want to see. You can go over any details that are necessary and provide an estimate for the customer. It can be difficult to be organized at first, but it will get easier the more you do it.

    • 7

Get testimonials from satisfied customers. You can put these on your website or blog and have customers put their comments on the social networking websites. If the customers are very satisfied, they might even let you use them as references.

Tips & Warnings

  • Have regular contact with your customer. Allow them to see the progress that you are making. Don't take on too many clients at a time. Start out with one and then go from there.

  • The first gig is always the most difficult. Keep trying and put some effort into it.
