Is the time that is displayed on your Personal Computer (PC) incorrect? If so, then follow these quick and easy steps to learn how to change the time and date on your Windows Vista powered PC.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • PC Running Windows Vista
  1. Step 1
    Windows Key
    Windows Key

    First you’re going to locate the “Windows Key” on your keyboard. It is usually located just to the left of the “Spacebar” between the “FN” (Function) and “ALT” (Alternate) keys. Once you locate your “Windows Key,” go ahead and press it to move on to the next step.

  2. Step 2

    Next, you’re going to look on the “Start” menu, it populated (opened up) when you pressed the “Windows Key.” From the "Start" menu you're going to locate and click the “Control Panel” menu option – it should be just off to the immediate right.

  3. Step 3

    Then, you’ll want to glance over to the right hand side so that you can locate and click the “Clock, Language, and Region” menu option.

  4. Step 4

    In the next window that populates, you should locate and click the option that reads “Set the Date and Time.” From here you will see two options in the first tab which will allow you to “Change Date and Time,” and “Change Time Zone.” Now you’re all set! All you have to do from here is make your desired changes, and you’re good to go.

Tips & Warnings
  • Of course all of the intermediate & advanced level users will readily realize that there is a much easier way to do this, but moving through the system in manner way will help beginners to more easily grasp how to navigate the "windows" environment in Microsoft Windows.
  • Whenever Windows prompts you for your permission, you must click “Continue” to allow the system to procede. If you’ve change your mind just click “Cancel” instead.
  • The "Control Panel" Window in Vista looks a lot different from the one that many are used to in Windows XP. Take some time to get familiar with the new verbiage and features.
  • No warnings, have fun learning how to use Windows Vista!
