How to Make Scratch and Sniff Drawings, Crafts for Children

Do you remember the scratch and sniff stickers and books we played with as children? If you’re like me you have many fond memories of them. I had a sticker book full of scratch and sniff stickers and a Berenstain Bears scratch and sniff book. My children just love this project; we have even made a little book for the baby. You can use different flavors of drink mix to create different scents. Our book has drawings of grapes, cherries, oranges, and strawberries, with coordinating scents. Using your imagination the possibilities are endless!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Paper drawings
• 2 teaspoons unsweetened drink mix (Kool-Aid)
• 2 teaspoons warm water
• Small container
• Paint brush or cotton swab

1. 

   Mix water and drink mix together in your small container. If you are using colored drink mix it will tint the drawing a bit similar to watercolor paint!

2. Use a paint brush or cotton swab to brush the mixture onto your drawing.

3. 

   Use a paint brush or cotton swab to brush the mixture onto your drawing. Try not to use too much of the mixture or you might create a hole in the drawing and it will take longer to dry.

   Have fun and be creative!
