Every Scout group, Pack or Troop, should have an American Flag for it's meetings. Or maybe you need a flag for your home. Why get a plain old American Flag from the Big Box Store when you can have one that flew over the Capital in Washington, D.C.? They're easy to get, and cost the same price as if you bought one from the store.
Here's how to get your own American Flag from the Capital.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An Elected Official
  1. Step 1

Locate the website of your Senator or Congressman. See resources below if you don't know the name of your elected official.

  2. Step 2

Look for a section labeled "Constituent Services" or just "Services", then look for something like Flag Request or Fly a Flag. Everyone does their own websites, they may be listed differently.

  3. Step 3

Read your elected official's instructions for getting an American Flag. There should be a form to fill out, instructions for if you want your flag flown on a particular day and pricing information.

  4. Step 4

Fill out the form and wait for your brand new American Flag to arrive from the Capital.

Tips & Warnings
  • Check with all your representatives: your congressman serves fewer people and may have a quicker turn around on American Flags.
  • It could take two months or more to get your flag. If you want one that is flow on a certain day you'll need to plan ahead.
