Gather up your dog's documents. Make sure you have their AKC registration paper on hand.

Visit the American Kennel Club's online store. In the Resources section displayed below this article you will find a direct link to purchase an "Online Pedigree". This service provides information about your dog's history, family history, and your breeder. It will include all significant AKC awards and accomplishments for your dog and his or her close blood relations.

Register for a free online account for the American Kennel Club's online store. You must be a registered member to complete a purchase.

Step 4
Complete your Online Pedigree purchase. The cost of this service is $10 for a four generation online pedigree. $12 is charged for a five generation online pedigree. For $32 you can elect to receive your results in the form of an official AKC document. Be sure you follow the ordering instructions exactly.

Step 5
Monitor the status of your Online Pedigree order through the free account you have created with AKC. When your dog's family history is complete, select a file format and download.
