Things You'll Need:
- Cheerios
- Chex cereal
- Gerber Yogurt Melts
- Gerber Puffs
- Mini dehydrated fruits
- Pieces of graham crackers
- Large ziploc bag or other airtight container
-
Step 1
In a large ziploc bag or other airtight storage container, add a cup of each of the ingredients for your trail mix. Anything that is small in size, roughly the size of a nickel or less, and easy to chew would be great for your toddler's trail mix. Nuts should be avoided in your trail mix until age two in case of food allergies.
-
Step 2
Give all the ingredients in your trail mix a good shake to mix well. There are small containers which are spill resistant that are perfect for your trail mix. They are perfect for little hands and hold just the right amount of trail mix. They can often be found in the baby foods aisle of your local supermarket.
-
Step 3
Try to avoid sugary snacks for your trail mix. The whole point of trail mix is to provide your toddler with a healthy snack. Toddlers burn a lot of energy playing hard every day, so trail mix is a great idea for a snack to keep your little one going strong.
