If you want to buy a vegan gift, you can buy specialty items like vegan shoes or handbags, or buy something that is naturally vegan, like a gift basket of gourmet mushrooms. No matter what category of gift you are looking for, chances are there is a company that makes it. Here are some vegan gift ideas and information on where you can buy them.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Buy a vegan gift of shoes, boots or a vegan handbag. You can find them at Moo Shoes, Vegetarian Shoes and Bags, or on a vegan shopping website. Discount shoes can even be found at places such as DSW Shoe Warehouse. For more information, see the Resources section below for a link to the article, "How To Buy Vegan Shoes."

  2. Step 2

Buy vegan cosmetic products or vegan toiletries. Some vegan cosmetic companies, like Luvalla, have products that are all natural and fair trade, and their packaging is environmentally-friendly as well. Most mineral makeups are vegan, and there are many companies that make only vegan cosmetics, as well as a lot of companies that have some vegan cosmetic products in their lines. For more information, see the article, "How to Buy Vegan Cosmetics."

  3. Step 3

Buy hemp, bamboo or organic cotton clothes. Natural material clothing is much more fashionable than it used to be, and makes a great vegan gift.

  4. Step 4

For the serious vegan fashionista try the Stella McCartney clothes, shoes, and skin care lines.

  5. Step 5

If you are shopping for a vegan goth, try the Heavy Red website, which has men's and women's clothes, jewelry, books and other goth vegan gifts.

  6. Step 6

Gourmet foods, sweets and gift baskets can also be found on the websites for Pangea, Chocolate Decadence and Vegan Essentials website. If you know the vegan food you want, look for it on amazon.com first. You might get a better price there. For more information on vegan gift baskets, see the Resources section below for a link to the article "How to Buy or Make a Vegan Gift Basket."

  7. Step 7

For the mushroom lover, buy some gourmet mushrooms at Fungus Among Us.

  8. Step 8

Buy a vegan wine. Try Frey Wines, which are vegan and biodynamically produced, or look up a brand in the Barnivore Vegan Alcohol Directory. For the non-drinker, a bottle of sparkling juice makes a great and inexpensive vegan gift. Try sparkling cider or sparkling pomegranate juice.

  9. Step 9

Consider cookware and cooking accessories for the vegan who likes to cook. A vegan who likes to make everything from scratch might love a bean and nut grinder.

  10. Step 10

Just about anything you can think of is made in a vegan versions now. Browse through vegan websites such as Pangea and PETA's Compassionate Shopping Guide to find laptop bags, DJ Gear, guitar straps, weight lifting gloves, accessories for companion animals, faux fur, and much more. Some companies offer products that are made from recycled materials, and many of them offer fair trade products.

  11. Step 11

Vegans like popular gifts like books, ipods and iphones, too!

on 12/19/2008 Terrific collection of resources. I always just thought of food, when I thought Vegan, not of responsible consumerism, overall. Thanks!
