Step 1
eBay email marketing allows interested customers to subscribe to your mailing list or newsletters. Keep in mind, that this feature does not allow you to send mass random emails to just any eBay members – your buyers must subscribe to the service. In other words, eBay email marketing is an opt-in situation.
-
Step 2
To encourage buyers to sign up for email marketing, they can click the “Sign Up for Store Newsletter” link on your store page. You can take this further. Ask them to sign up on each auction page, including a link to the newsletter sign up form. On your winning buyer notification, payment received, and shipping email notifications, ask your buyers to sign up. You can also add a newsletter promotion box to your store pages. You absolutely must be proactive in asking buyers to subscribe to your email marketing lists! Many eBayers don’t know this feature exists.
-
Step 3
You can create multiple lists for your email marketing campaigns. For example, if you sell sporting goods, you can have one list for golf, one for tennis, and another for cycling. Organizing your email lists is up to you.
-
Step 4
You can include featured items or item lists in your emails. You can choose the exact items that you want to promote, or you can specify key words and let eBay choose the items that fit the criteria.
-
Step 5
eBay email marketing is free up to a certain level. A Basic Store subscriber is allowed 5,000 emails per month, a Premium Store subscriber is allowed 7,500 emails per month, and an Anchor Store subscriber is allowed 10,000 emails per month. A cost of .01 is added to any emails over these totals.
