So you want to become a PGA Golf Tour Caddy? Interesting career choice you have made. Caddy’s have become an interesting concept for some people because of the recent news coverage over the mid six figure salaries. As with breaking into any occupation you must have a niche or well networked with the industry you’re trying to enter.

  1. Step 1

    If you already know professionals in the field get them to get your name out. If you don’t…

  2. Step 2

    The first step is to learn in-depth knowledge of the PGA. The writer suggests visiting the PGA Tour website, reading current events and visiting local golf hot spots.

  3. Step 3

    Learn the golfing lingo so you don’t look stupid when handing the wrong iron to the professional golfer.

  4. Step 4

    Start at your local country club as a caddy.

  5. Step 5

    Offer free caddy services when you have time, this will build your network, knowledge and skill base.

    When events come to town such as amateurs, opens and charity events, volunteer to be a caddy for the event.

    Build a reputation for yourself as a solid performer. You might catch a professional golfers eye or one of his staff if he or she has one.

    Remember that the Professional Amateur golfers want to turn Professional as well. If they already know you and need a professional caddy , you’re in the door.
