Step 1
Figure out where you want to blog at. Blogger is one of the more popular places and is very easy to set up.

Figure out a user name that fits you. My user name is eclectic education (eclecticeducation) because I homeschool and we are very eclectic in the way we homeschool.

Step 3
Follow the steps of the place you have choses to blog, to set up your blog. Most places allow you to choose a look for your blog and add things to your blog to make them unique to you.

Step 4
Start posting on your blog. A lot of people's first post is an introduction of themselves and why they are blogging.

Step 5
Look around for other blogs that have similar interests to you. You can use Google to do this or the place you blog may have a search engine. Leave comments to those blogs and direct them back to your blog.

Step 6
Add people on your friend list. Soon people will start coming to your blog and putting you on their friend's list.

Step 7
Post often, so people will know to expect your posts. If you post only hit or miss, people will stop coming.

Step 8
Join a blog Carnival of something you are interested in. This will draw people to your blog and give you people to connect with.
