Spending New Year's Eve at home definitely has its perks. Here's how to celebrate quietly at home.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Get a bottle of bubbly ready. Whatever bubbly is to you that is. Perhaps you prefer sparkling cider over champagne. Whatever it is, be sure to have it chilled and ready for midnight! Remember, you're not driving tonight!

  2. Step 2

Be sure to have your snacks prepared and ready to go for the night. You don't want to miss a minute of the celebrations on TV messing around in the kitchen. Chips and dip make an excellent choice for a night like this. Be creative and stay away from the jar of salsa and bag of tortilla chips. After all, it is a special night!

  3. Step 3

Park yourself in front of the TV for the night at about 10:00/10:30PM and tune into the celebration in your area. Check your local newspaper for listings.

  4. Step 4

If you have a loved one with you, take this time to make the evening especially romantic. Turn the lights down low, wear something special and turn on the charm.

  5. Step 5

When the ball drops, be sure to toast the New Year. If you are with that someone special, a kiss immediately following the drop is customary and expected! Feel free to toast the New Year immediately after the kiss.
