How to Clean My LCD TV Screen

As with any television, though, the screen of your LCD TV will get covered with dirt and dust in time. One must be careful when cleaning the screen of an LCD TV. If you don't know the safe way to clean your screen, you could end up spending hundreds of dollars on repairs. Here is a safe and easy way to clean your LCD TV screen.

• LCD/Plasma TV Cleaning Kit

1. Begin by purchasing a LCD/Plasma TV screen cleaning kit. Most of these kits will include a specialized cleaning spray, rag and a dust brush. These kits can be bought anywhere that LCD TVs are sold.

2. Turn your LCD TV off. Let the TV cool down for about 30 minutes. This is especially important if you own a plasma TV.

3. Use the dust brush to remove any dust and dirt from the screen of your LCD TV. Gently wipe the entire screen off with the bristles of the dust brush, concentrating on areas where there is more dust or dirt. Only use a little bit of pressure as you'll be wiping the LCD TV screen off with the rag once you finish.

4. Fold the rag and spray one side with the cleaning spray. Spray the rag about three to five times.

5. Wipe the LCD TV screen off using the rag. Use the same slight pressure you would use if you were cleaning a delicate window. The cleaning spray will get any dirt stuck on the LCD TV screen that couldn't be removed by the dust brush. When you've finished wiping the entire screen, turn the rag over to the dry side. Repeat the process. Make sure to get any and all moisture off of the LCD TV screen.

6. Inspect your LCD TV screen, looking for any dirt or dust. If there is still dirt or dust on the screen, begin again at step 3. Continue until you're happy with the look of your LCD TV screen.

• Avoid using water or glass cleaner. This will put streaks on your LCD TV screen which can be difficult to remove.
