Fill an empty spray bottle with equal parts water and vinegar. If you like, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to help mask the smell of vinegar. Use this mixture to clean kitchen counters, the kitchen sink, bathtubs and showers, and other bacteria prone surfaces. It will also kill mildew.

Fill a mop bucket halfway with vinegar, and top off with hot water and 2 drops of dish soap. This will wash and disinfect your floors.

    • 3

Wash windows mirrors and glass tables with a half vinegar, half water mixture. If you have been using commercial window cleaners, you may have a waxy buildup. Remove this by wiping the surface with soapy water, rinsing with clean water, and then cleaning with the vinegar mixture.

    • 4

Scrub porcelain sinks or tubs with a paste made from 1/4 cup baking soda, 3 drops of dish soap and 2 tbsp. vinegar.

    • 5

Add 2 cups vinegar to your toilet bowl, let sit for 30 minutes, and then scrub to disinfect. To remove hard water stains, leave the vinegar in overnight and scrub in the morning.

    • 6

Mix 2 parts olive oil with 1 part lemon juice. Use a soft cloth to polish wood furniture, and a different cloth to wipe clean.

Tips & Warnings

  • Orange oil can break up stubborn messes on your stovetop. Let a few drops set on the mess for 10 to 15 minutes and wipe clean with a sponge.

  • Always perform a spot test before using any cleaner. Avoid getting vinegar in your eyes. If you do, rinse with water immediately. It should not cause any permanent damage.
