Learning how to target Adwords Keywords for use in your article is the KEY to increasing your earnings. I fumbled around for awhile on eHow, not understanding how this works. Once I GOT IT, my earnings took off. I made in 2 WEEKS what it had taken me 3 MONTHS to earn before, and it continues to grow. Use this article, along with my step-by-step guide (link below) to using Google Adwords Keywords Tool to get your earnings on the right track.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

UNDERSTAND KEYWORDS: Adwords Keywords are EVERYTHING! Which ones you pick and how you use them in your article are what determines three VERY important things. 1) Who visits you, 2) What ads are placed on your page AND, 3) How much those ads are paying you when someone clicks on them. That is how you earn money on eHow...the ads.

  2. Step 2

TARGET YOUR VISITORS: You want your visitors to be looking for the information you are presenting. You don't want an OOPS! An OOPS is a stray, someone who is searching for information on IPODS ends up on your page talking about Bluebirds. They will most likely just back out of your page and ignore you. It may be more subtle, though. If you are talking about the Health Benefits of Chocolate and the searcher is looking for Chocolate Gifts, they may stay, but most likely they will not. You want targeted, purposeful traffic to visit you. Then you have a better chance of them clicking on your ads and earning you a little money.

  3. Step 3

TARGET YOUR ADS: Your Adwords Keywords determine what ads are placed on your page. The more relative your keywords are to your content, the better your ad picks will be. They are assigned to you automatically based on how often certain words occur on your page. This is called adword KEYWORD DENSITY.

  4. Step 4

TARGET YOUR KEYWORD DENSITY: Use the Google Rankings Ultimate SEO Tool. Open another tab and either copy this address into it http://www.googlerankings.com/ultimate_seo_tool.php or click on the link in resources below. Now check the keyword density of this article. To do that, copy the address of this article and paste it into the URL box on the SEO Tool page. Make sure you don't duplicate the http:// Just delete that part out of the URL you copied, or the tool won't work. Click ANALYZE KEYWORDS. My adword keyword density is not too bad, over 13%. AND it is using the keywords I am targeting. Now, do one of your own. You may be shocked at what the search engine thinks you are talking about. If your ads are not matching what you are talking about, or your keywords, this is why. Use this tool with every article you write to tweak your adwords keywords. You can use it BEFORE you publish. Just save and preview. Check the preview page with the SEO Tool.

  5. Step 5

BUILD YOUR KEYWORD DENSITY: You see how I am using the phrase ADWORDS KEYWORDS throughout my page? That is building adwords keywords density. My keywords are, ADWORDS KEYWORDS. I put them in my title, the caption of my photos, in the NAME of my photo filename and sprinkle them throughout the article. You want them to be there often enough to create density, but not so that your article is unreadable or that they are annoying. If they fit, and make sense in your sentences, then people will usually forgive your abundant usage of the word or phrase. Also, if you overdo it, the search engines will actually ignore you for keyword spamming.

  6. Step 6

YOUR EARNINGS: Adwords Keywords are worth money. Advertisers bid an amount of money that they will pay for the right to use certain words in their ads. They pay every time someone clicks on their ad. This is called CPC - Cost per Click, or PPC - Pay per Click. The amount they pay is split between Google, eHow AND YOU, whenever someone clicks on your ads. To see how important this is to your earnings, do the exercise in the next step. NEVER CLICK ON YOUR OWN ADS OR ASK ANYONE TO CLICK ON THEM FOR YOU. THIS IS CLICK FRAUD AND WILL GET YOU BANNED FROM EHOW, OR ADSENSE.

  7. Step 7

TRY AN EXAMPLE: The best way to see how this works is to follow the steps in my other article HOW TO USED GOOGLE ADWORDS KEYWORD TOOL. The link is below. Just do it after you finish reading here. Since I have written that article I have had several people write and tell me that hey have increased their earnings by 50%, just following my advice and learning more about it.

  8. Step 8

    ADWORDS KEYWORDS

SUMMARY: To get the best use for your adwords keywords, TARGET an audience, CHOOSE your adwords keywords wisely, USE them wisely and you will increase your earnings. If you want to know how to use your images to help you earn more money, read my other article on that. The link is below. Good luck, and I would love to hear from you if you found this, or any of my other articles helpful.

Tips & Warnings
  • DON'T KEYWORD SPAM. Keyword spamming is filling your page with your keywords to the degree that it is unreadable or over-saturated. This will cause the search engines to REJECT you and you will end up the last page in the search.
  • DON"T CLICK ON YOUR OWN ADS, or get others to do it for you - It is Click Fraud and will get booted out of eHow.
