Another lunch hour has come for your usual workday. As you hand over another ten dollars for a fast food lunch, you think to yourself that there has to be something better. Most people spend a couple thousand dollars a year on the lunches that they eat at work. What is worth the amount of money that you spend on your lunch? These meals contain some of the unhealthiest foods that you eat all week. By making a simple change in your work lunch, you can save money and eat healthier.

    To makeover your work lunch, you need to join the brown baggers. This means that you need to bring your lunch from home. Many think of a brown bag lunch as those soggy peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that we had as children. Lunch does not have to be that dull and boring. You can bring your work lunch and have a healthy appetizing meal everyday.

  2. Step 2

    The first option when it comes to a healthy lunch at work that will save you money is bringing in leftovers from the previous night's dinner. This is a great healthy option. Make more of your healthy dinner then you need and pack it away for lunch at work the next day.

  3. Step 3

    You can eat healthy at work by preparing simple lunches to bring into the office. These healthy meals do not have to take more then fifteen minutes to prepare. You will be surprised how many of your coworkers will want to know where you got that healthy appetizing lunch.

  4. Step 4

    There are many healthy lunch options that you can prepare to take to work. One of the most common options is a healthy salad. Fill the salad with greens and other healthy vegetables that you like. Place a grilled chicken breast on top of the salad for your protein. The best part of this healthy meal is that you control the ingredients and the dressing. This makes it so that you control the salt and fat that you eat.

    Another great healthy lunch idea for work is cold peanut noodles. You can easily used precooked spaghetti noodles for this dish. Add a peanut sauce to this simple meal. Plenty of vegetables and shredded grilled chicken finishes your healthy lunch.

    Making you own work lunch will save you plenty of money through out the year. However, the healthy benefits of bringing your lunch to work far out weighs any monetary savings. You will soon find yourself looking forward to your healthy lunch everyday as you go through your workday.
