Deciding what to sell on eBay to make real money working from home.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Research, research, and more research! This is very important when deciding what you would like to sell on eBay. I have spent numerous hours searching eBay trying to find what sells the best. At first you will probably start selling items around the house that you no longer need.

  2. Step 2

The four types of products that sell well are consumable, information, collectibles,
    and custom made.

Consumables: Any item that a person would buy, use and need to buy again. Examples are clothing, shipping supplies, and personal items (makeup, fragrances)

Information: Any product that is downloaded or can be received by email or on a CD is considered to be an info-product.

Collectibles: eBay is famous of its rare items. Examples are Stamps, beanies, sports memorabilia, and antiques.

Custom Made: Any item that you have made that is unique. Including clothing, jewelry, and printing/personalization.

  3. Step 3

You may visit eBay listings http://listings.ebay.com/ to view all the various product categories on eBay. You may also want to visit Market Place Research http://pages.ebay.com/marketplace_research . You may research items that have been sold in the past 90 days. There is also a Hot Items By Category monthly report that reveals the categories in demand. http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/whatshot.html

  4. Step 4

I also consider the cost of shipping! The heavier the item the higher the shipping. The higher the shipping, the lower your customer will pay for the item. That is one reason I like selling clothing. It is lightweight, can be easily packaged, and I do not worry as much about my items being damaged in the mail. I really enjoy selling girls clothing. I have three boys so I like buying the cute girl clothes!
