Who wouldn't want to shop like Katie Holmes? She's such a watch-able star as she dresses herself and Suri with such style and grace. She makes it look effortless, but it's not. She devotes time to create her look, and it shows, and that's why Katie always has our attention.

   PRINTS OR NO PRINTS? Look at Katie's clothes. The less print we see next to her face the better. For her, less always equals more. Why? Busy prints overwhelm her. Her energy shines brighter when she wears solid colors.

   Katie's Color Palette

   A DEFINITE COLOR PALETTE. Katie rarely wears clothes that have more than two colors, single clear colors being the norm. We see her often in black, white, red, blue and yellow. Not many muted or pastel colors, unless they match her skin tone. Why? Who knows. But she starts to disappear with this outfit. Not saying it's not fun and cute, but we see less of her with the introduction of more colors and prints.

   CLOTHING TEXTURE AND DETAILS Katie has a smoothness in her skin, hair and presence. So when we see smooth fabrics on her, it's a winning combination. Have you noticed her wearing textured fabrics? Check it out. Even the style details of her garments have a fluid quality.

4. TRUST YOUR STYLE INSTINCTS. Katie is a fashion icon because she dresses for herself. We don't associate her with specific designers because she is intentional with her clothing choices. They are thoughtful and timeless.
